Dundee is centrally located to Toledo (OH), Ann Arbor (MI), and Detroit (MI). The schools here have a program called "school of choice," which means that your child[ren] could attend a school in another town, village or city in Michigan. You have to do a little paperwork to make the change and you will have to provide transportation to and from the school if you participate in school of choice. Neighboring schools fairly close to Dundee are Ida, Summerfield (in Petersburg), MIlan, Whiteford, Monroe, Tecumseh, and Deerfield, with the closest being Ida and Summerfield. We have a Cabela's in Dundee. Soon we will have a Meijer. Tractor Supply is here, as well as Russell Stover's. The downtown area of the village has a large candle shop, drug stores, River's Edge restaurant, Tiffany's Pizza, Subway, and other shops and businesses. Eating establishments are fairly common from fast food to other sit down restaurants. New establishments are coming in all the time. There is also the GEMA plant in the industrial park. It employs quite a few people who produce energy efficient engines for Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Chrysler.
Many hospitals are close. Toledo has several; some of the better known being Flower, St. Vincent's, Medical University of Ohio and Toledo . Ann Arbor sports U of M and St Joseph. Monroe had Mercy Memorial. The latter has a facility in Dundee now. We have dentists, vets, emergency care, chiropractors
Dundee is close to many colleges and universities, including BGSU, University of Toledo, U of M, Eastern Michigan, Adrian College, Sienna Heights University, Monroe Community College and more. US 23 may as well be an interstate highway and provides a convenient way to get around, north or south.
Dundee is a growing community with lots to offer. This short description is hardly the whole story. Lots of new people are making their homes here. The plan for the village is to have well over 15000 plus new homes built over the next few years.
